Have a ticket issued in Potter County? You can easily make that go away and keep points off your record by completing a defensive driving course.
We offer a defensive driving course that is done entirely online and is approved throughout Potter County by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. This gives you the flexibility to work at your own convenience from anywhere you want.
Before you can get started on the course you will need to Request Permission from the County of Potter, which you can do one of two ways. The affidavit and application can be downloaded online, signed at home, and mailed in, but you can also submit them in person if you prefer. You will be notified once your application is approved and will then be able to get started on the course.
By taking advantage of the Course and Record combo you will get access to all the online study materials as well as receive a copy of your record when you finish this course. This will need to be presented at the DPS to have your ticket dismissed.
To qualify for a traffic ticket dismissal course in Potter County, Texas:
- You may NOT have had a ticket dismissed within the previous twelve months
- You must admit guilt or sign a statement that you do not contest the citation
- You can NOT possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- You may NOT have been cited for driving 25 mph or more over the posted speed limit
- You must request permission to take the course by the appearance date shown on the ticket, in person or by mail, and submit:
- a completed copy of the Affidavit form with notarized signature
- Proof of a valid non-commercial Texas driver's license
- The court administrative fee
- A copy of your insurance policy
- A copy of your Driving Record, if required
- Submit your certificate of completion to the course within 90 days once permission to take the course is granted
